Deep within the mountain range, the enormous storm cloud, which heralded the coming of the harsh winter storms, loomed over the mountains. The entirety of the Silver Flock had made it unharmed, and were dashing here and there, looking to get their nests completed. A simple pit in the ground covered with fallen leaves, twigs, and dead grass would serve this purpose. Competition for building supplies was fierce, as the mothers desperately tried to gather as many building materials as they could while fathers scouted out suitable locations. I have put up this section in the hopes to give great, somewhat unseen artists the attention I feel they truly deserve.
I will be featuring one deviant every couple weeks to one month.
(depends on whether I can find somebody to feature or not)

Requirements:

- The artist must have art that I consider to be jaw-dropping, or at least very good.

People such as this person were pretty much the reason the feature box was made.
All of this person's art has left me in awe, such wonderful details, and they sure have a sense of humor to their art as well.

But here's the real reason other than that. Five years, they've been a dA member, FIVE. YEARS. And know how many pageviews they have? Less then 8,000.
This put me in shock. How on earth can someone go unnoticed for THAT LONG?! It's beyond me!

If you have time, I highly reccomend checking out this person's gallery. Such an amazing artist deserves more than they're getting. ;v;

*~Kiriban at 30k!~*

So lately, things have really been going rather smoothly. I'm getting back motivation to draw, for starters! ( expect a few memes... >u> )
But a few days ago, I was informed that we just might be going on an actual VACATION after all, and to, unsurprisingly, Maryland! Yep, my dad was hinting at it before he left to go back after his last visit.

And speaking of my dad, turns out that the company he works for just passed a contract of sorts that's gonna give him the opportunity to work at their office in Ohio (since for some reason, they wouldn't hire him here, but they WOULD in Maryland). However, it's not official as of yet. He says that if he DOES get hired at this office, it will happen, at the very least, by early fall.
Know what that means if he gets the job here instead of Maryland? LOTS of good things!

- Seeing my dad WAY more often
- Having more money to fix up the house
- My dad FINALLY having local work
- Perhaps more vacations to visit our other relatives
And plenty more I'm just too tired to list. I'm so hoping he gets accepted here, he said the boss of their more local office was interested in transferring him!

And in other random news, I went to a flea market a couple days ago. Got a whole buncha nice shit.
Marshmallow Peeps microbead pillow for seventy-five cents, tin CHOCK FULL of rare Pokemon cards (including holofoil Sky Shaymin) for four bucks, and a giant Piplup plush for twelve bucks (would've most likely cost WAY more than that at Target or at cons). Everything but the cards was... "well-loved" so to speak, but that's nothing a run through the wash couldn't fix!

My name is Finch, but all my friends call me "Blue" when referring to me. :}

And... more things about me...
Oh yeah!
Pretty much what I'm most well-known for is my fantasy species, the Galahawks. A gryphon-like creature with some rather exaggerated features (blunter beaks, weird wing structure, rabbit-like features, etcetera) that I created about... six years ago. Maybe more.

More general things about me:

- Digital art and painting are my LIFE, I don't think I'd last very long without either.
- I've been called one of the best artists in my school.
- I love the colors blue, black, white, and teal.
- I'm an astronomy nerd, drawing/painting space-scenes is always fun for me.
- Gryphons = <3, and don't you forget it.

That's about it.
Overall, I'm a fairly nice person, if we have at least SOME of the same interests. :}

Q: Can we be friends?
A: No, I don't like to make friends with any old random stranger that comes to my page. I have to get to become familiar with you first.

Q: ... Can I at least watch you?
A: Sure, always a pleasure!

Q: Do you do requests/trades/collabs?
A: I'll leave the answer to this as a strict maybe.
If I'm doing trades, requests, or collabs, it will say so in the Art Status section of my journal. I sometimes break my own rules and give out requests, but I'm just going to say this: I only do this for SIMPLER requests. For instance: I'm more likely to do just a sketch request as compared to a request for a fully colored/detailed picture. Understand?

Q: What program(s) do you use to make your pictures?
A: For the most part, I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0, but I'll occasionally swap over to things like MS Paint, GIMP, and iScribble. For all of which, I use a Wacom BAMBOO Fun tablet.

Q: Can I add you on Windows Live/YIM? (those are my IMs)
A: No. In order for me to add you on either (from this point onward, I've been much too lenient on this in the past), I have to know you fairly well. I'm getting sick of random people adding me on YIM.

Q: Can I make my own Galahawk character?
A: Of course you can! All you have to do to make one is look at this chart, pick out a breed of Galahawk (Iridescent Argent, Specter, and Supernova are off-limits), and make a character for them based off the provided information. Disclaimer: If you make your own character, since the Galahawks are my creation, you hereby give me the right to use this character for anything I want to, commercial or noncommercial.
