Jesus Christ on a stick, this took so danged LONG to complete, but with my results, I'm glad I spent so long on it. I'd say this took about... three days to complete with breaks and school included in the overall time.
So recently, I saw Beowulf, and I LOVED the dragon on that movie, it was so cool! So it got me wanting to draw another dragon. I didn't want to draw Tarkus again since every so often, I break away from the ordinary.
And holy crap, this turned out so nicely! And I tried another background I could put a lot of effort into, and I've convinced myself to never draw piles of doubloons EVER again. XvX I love the shading on it too, especially since it matched the background I drew. (I do outlining, coloring, and details before the background)
Once I get a PayPal account or something of the sort, I may sell this as a print. :}

That is amazing! And ya, I drew a pic once with a bunch of coins. |D Pain in the ass, and at one point on a background pile I'm like "SCREW NEAT" so the background ones turned out...meh. :/

"Jesus Christ on a stick" Wasn't there a new plz account for that phrase? I remember somebody saying it in the Complaints Forum, then the plz was made. But I can't remember it... ;_;
Ahaha, but either way, beautiful picture you got here. The light, the colors, and the details make it stand out very much. But best of all is undoubtedly all of the gold in the background. I never would've been able to garner the time to do all those coins: it must have been a real test of patience!
The coins weren't that hard to do, I just stippled with a low-opacity brush, drew a bunch of dark curved lines, and added sparkles and sheen. But yes, I love how I did that, although it took less than fifteen minutes to do the background as compared to more than seven hours total of working on the dragon, it's something that I can be proud of.
